Products & Materials
What kind of products does Oakveilhome offer?
Oakveilhome focuses on decorative rugs and mats designed to bring warmth, texture, and vintage character into the home. Our selection includes round accent rugs, Persian-inspired area rugs, French and American vintage-style bedroom rugs, bedside rugs, living room rugs, and textured entryway mats.
Each style is selected to work naturally with interiors featuring wood furniture, linen, leather, ceramics, brass details, neutral upholstery, and layered decorative elements.
What materials are your rugs made from?
Our products are made from woven textile materials selected for a balance of decorative appearance, everyday practicality, and comfortable texture. Material composition may vary slightly between individual designs, so the product page should always be used as the primary reference for the specific item you are purchasing.
Some entryway styles feature a linen-inspired textured surface, while our area rugs generally use a soft, low-profile woven construction.
Are the rugs thick or low profile?
Most Oakveilhome rugs are designed with a relatively low-profile surface. This makes them easier to place beside beds, beneath coffee tables, near desks, in dressing areas, or in spaces where a very thick rug could feel visually heavy.
Exact thickness and texture can vary by design, and we recommend reviewing the product photographs and specifications before ordering.
Are your rugs soft underfoot?
Our woven rugs are designed to provide a comfortable textile surface that softens hard flooring and helps create a warmer atmosphere. They are decorative low-profile rugs rather than deep-pile plush carpets, making them suitable for rooms where a cleaner, more refined appearance is preferred.
Choosing The Right Rug
Size, shape and placement matter
A well-chosen rug helps define furniture placement and gives the room a more finished visual structure. Round rugs are especially effective beneath circular coffee tables, reading chairs, vanities, or in compact dressing spaces. Rectangular rugs work beautifully beside beds, in front of sofas, beneath coffee tables, or as larger room anchors.
Before ordering, measure the intended floor area and consider how much surrounding flooring you want to remain visible. For furniture groupings, think about whether the rug should sit completely beneath the furniture or simply anchor the front portion of the arrangement.
Sizing & Placement
How do I choose the correct rug size?
Measure the area where you intend to place the rug before ordering. We recommend using painter’s tape or masking tape to mark the approximate dimensions on your floor so you can visualize the scale in relation to surrounding furniture.
For a bedside rug, consider the visible portion you want beside the bed. For a living room rug, consider the width of the sofa and coffee table. For entryway mats, ensure there is sufficient clearance for doors to open comfortably.
Where can I find the available sizes?
All currently available sizes are listed in the size selector on each individual product page. Because different rug designs may be produced in different dimensions, the selection shown on the product page is the most accurate source for availability.
Which rug shape is best for my room?
Round rugs work well when you want to soften a room with many straight furniture lines or highlight a compact feature area. Rectangular rugs are more versatile for beds, sofas, larger seating zones, hallways, and room-length arrangements.
There is no single correct choice—the shape should complement your furniture arrangement and the visual balance you want to create.
Can I use a bedside rug in a living room?
Yes. Product names are primarily styling suggestions rather than strict placement rules. A smaller bedside-style rug may work beautifully beneath an accent chair, in front of a console, beside a sofa, or in a reading corner. Likewise, larger area rugs may also be used in bedrooms or dressing spaces.
Care & Everyday Maintenance
How should I clean my rug?
For routine care, vacuum gently to remove dust, hair, and loose debris. If a small spill occurs, blot the area promptly with a clean absorbent cloth rather than rubbing it into the fibers.
For localized marks, use a soft damp cloth with a mild cleaning solution when necessary. Avoid harsh bleach, strong solvents, aggressive brushes, excessive soaking, and high-temperature treatment unless the individual product care instructions specifically allow them.
Can I machine wash the rug?
Care requirements may differ between products. Please follow the care information stated on the specific product page. When machine washing is not specifically stated as suitable, we recommend gentle surface cleaning rather than assuming the rug can be placed in a washing machine.
How often should I vacuum it?
Frequency depends on placement and household activity. A rug in a frequently used living room or entryway may need more regular care than one placed beside a bed or in a dressing room. Gentle routine vacuuming helps prevent dust from settling into the textile surface.
How should I handle spills?
Act quickly. Blot rather than rub, work from the outside of the spill toward the center, and avoid saturating the rug with water. Allow the cleaned area to dry completely in a well-ventilated location.
Natural Variation
Every interior sees color differently
Rug colors can appear slightly different depending on daylight, warm or cool interior lighting, photography conditions, and the brightness or color settings of your phone or computer screen.
Textile surfaces can also reflect light differently depending on viewing direction. These small variations are normal and are part of the visual character of woven home textiles.
Orders, Delivery & Packaging
Will my rug arrive folded?
Depending on the size and packaging requirements, some rugs may be folded for shipping. Temporary creases can occur during transportation. In most cases, these soften gradually after the rug is unpacked and laid flat.
You can help the rug relax by placing it flat on a clean surface and allowing time for the textile to settle naturally.
Why does my new rug have temporary creases?
Folding pressure during storage and transportation may temporarily compress the textile. This is not normally a product defect. Lay the rug flat, gently smooth it into position, and allow it time to relax naturally.
How can I track my order?
When tracking information is available for your shipment, it will be provided through the order contact information associated with your purchase. Please make sure the email address entered at checkout is correct and monitor your inbox for order and shipping updates.
Can I change my shipping address after ordering?
If you notice an address error, contact us at support@oakveilhome.store as quickly as possible. We will review the order status and determine whether the address can still be updated. Once an order has entered fulfillment or has been handed to the carrier, changes may no longer be possible.
What happens if my package is delayed?
Carrier delays can occasionally occur because of weather, customs processing, peak-season volume, operational disruptions, or local delivery conditions. If tracking has not updated for an unusual period, please contact us and include your order number so our support team can review the available information.
Returns, Issues & Support
What should I do if I receive the wrong item?
Please contact support@oakveilhome.store and include your order number together with clear photographs of the item and packaging. This helps us understand the issue and review the most appropriate solution.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Please photograph the product, outer packaging, shipping label, and any visible damage as soon as possible. Send the images and your order information to our support team so the case can be reviewed efficiently.
Are slight color or size differences considered defects?
Small color differences caused by screens, lighting, textile texture, and photography are generally considered normal. Minor dimensional variations can also occur in textile products due to manufacturing and manual measurement. Significant issues will be reviewed individually by our support team.
